Diabesity War Day #19 – Running Naked

47b01d3c66b88039dc170bb4b15eeb3cOne of the things I hate most about cardio is the constant abrasion between my underwear and my skin. The other day it got to be so annoying that I stripped down to just socks and sneakers on the treadmill. Turned out to quite comfortable as it offers a unique feeling of freedom and liberation. I suppose that this is another added benefit while working out in the privacy of my garage versus working out at the gym. There is something that is just romantically primal in working out nude like the original man running through the forests hunting his prey.

I had another successful day yesterday both with diet and exercise. Breakfast was greek yogurt and tuna, lunch salad and sardines, and dinner kielbasa and sauerkraut. The weights on the bowflex continue to get a bit heavier with each routine and I was able to make 2 miles on the treadmill in just 27:24 minutes. But here is where a problem finally arose. Yesterday afternoon I was feeling total burn out. I was tire, my body was tired and my mind was tired. I ended up sleeping almost 8 1/2 hours last night. While I have reduced my carbohydrate intake I am reducing my energy available to make it through the day. Energy in equals energy out. So at this point I have two choices to make… Either I have to increase food or decrease exercise. Maybe even a combination of both. Or this could be a natural state where my body is adjusting to the recent changes I have made in both diet and exercise.

For now I will simply stay on the same path and make a decision later in the day as to the direction I should take. As I am working out this morning I am also feeling the same burn out thus reducing my workout as my energy levels can not support a more intense workout. I have even reduces my cardio down to just 20 minutes. It would have been just as easy to tell myself that I am not working out this morning because of low energy, but I believe that it is more beneficial to push through a half assed workout that no workout at all.
