So I have been a lazy bones the last several days. As the intensity of the demand at work increases I am finding myself sleeping more each day. I barely have time to right the simplest of a post in the morning as I have been sleeping until 4:30 AM before getting up.
It seems that the workout doesn’t fit this current schedule and I will have to start considering other options like walking or riding my bike after work. I haven’t been feeling too alert during the day and I believe that with the arrival of spring that it may also be allergy season for me.
When facing certain changes that throw my schedule off the best I can do is simply take it one day at a time. I may have to think about a way to slow down my pace. As I am one year older than I was last year at this time I can actually start to feel my body fighting the busy schedule and experience a longing for more take it down time. This doesn’t mean that I will become a couch potato of course, but what it does mean that I will have rearrange certain things to make more room for other things that are also important to me.
This weekend will be the first weekend that it won’t rain since last October and I will be tending to much needed yard work. The gardens must be prepared for planting season and the lawn needs to cut and manicured. We will still see much rain until the end of May, but when you get a good weekend you have to take advantage of it.
I am considering getting rid of the bowflex and opting for basic calisthenic exercises each day. The heavy weights are taking a tole on me while working a full time job and the good thing is that I can do calisthenic’s anywhere at any time. I will keep the treadmill however as it is my best alternative to going out in the rain to walk. I am sure that there are many good programs available for calisthenic workouts and if anyone has any suggestions I would love to here them.
