Thoughts of the Present Moment

present-moment-photography-1I am here in the now and today will only last so long before it is gone forever. I welcome this day with open arms as I breath in the fresh air that surrounds me. I cannot dwell on the past for it is a faded memory of time gone by, nor can I make plans for the future for I know not what the future holds. All I have is this moment in this day.

I will go through the motions of my day with enthusiasm and appreciation that I can take part in it’s wonder. Today I will think good thoughts and be the love I would like to see in the world. My day will be a reflection of peace and harmony even in this crazy world I live in. I may be surrounded by negative thoughts and words I here from other’s who tussle through their own vessels of being with an understanding that their world is not mine. Mine is just fine.

Each of us has our times of great joy and also great suffering. It is usually during those times of great suffering where I find my greatest strengths. In the middle of both is a period of peace and calm where everything feels in perfect balance. I believe that life is made up of mostly this middle ground as our lives go by with occasional periods of joy and occasional periods of suffering.

It is the present moment and I have the choice to accept it for what it is or choose to create suffering within myself or in those who I encounter. I also have the choice of creating joy in other’s with a smile or kind word. My choices do more than effect the world around me, they effect the world within me.

It is only I who can control my own emotions and reactions to the stimulus I may encounter today. It is I who is control of my own feelings about myself and make decisions about how I will allow the actions of others effect these feelings. I am in the present moment and there is no better place in the world to live. Good morning World.

  3. Love these posts…makes me think back to a year or so ago picking rosehips and just enjoying the moment. We had a family bereavement shortly after so I do tend to grasp the simple things when I can. Today it was seeing a heron close up before he got scared and took off. Enjoy every moment…
