The Flow of a River

umpqua_riverI walked along the mighty river that ran the course defined by the laws of the universe and thought about the fact that there is the same definition that runs though us all. The very same energy lives lives inside and is us flows in a way that directs us to peace and tranquility when unobstructed by the confounds of man.

To live is as easy as simply being a part of a natural world that it seems that we have forgotten only to discover when the world around us is quiet. It is in this silence we find the time to be at peace with ourselves and truly be engulfed in the fine balance of nature.

It is us, and within us and surrounds us like soft warm blanket of love. As a child I would lie in the grass and stare up at the sky above and actually feel the earth beneath me and peace within me. Everything is as it has always been.

Why do we insist on creating dams that restrict the flow of our mighty river and not understand that it’s waters are moving in the direction that make our very souls dance in ecstasy. Sometimes there is no reason for intervention or improvement upon what is already perfect. Sometimes we simply need to just be.
