Shrug Soreness and New Career Path Opportunites

OjVeNI am feeling pretty beat up this morning after working shoulders yesterday and really feeling sore from doing heavy shrugs. This was the only exercise that I did not reduce the weight on because for me it seems to be such an easy exercise to perform. Apparently my muscles don’t agree. LOL. I will get past this and do appreciate the feeling that my body feels like it has been truly worked and I am also thankful that I have the ability to perform such a task.

I started protein supplementation yesterday with a protein shake in the morning to start feeding those muscles that I am working. All problems that I had that one day with IBS have seemed to have passed and since I started doubling up on probiotics each day things have returned to normal. I feel good, I feel strong and ready to work towards the best I can be.

180f39e2-98d8-46ae-82e2-579e0146d4d3On the work front a new opportunity has presented itself to me in the field of housing. I was approached with the opportunity of working as a Code Compliance Inspector in the City I work for. Although it is just a limited term position that will end on June 30th of next year the city is hoping to get the funding to make it a permanent position. Even if they don’t it still gives me exposure to the opportunity to learn something new and I can work towards getting certain certifications that could fuel a whole new career for me. I am very excited as I will have new goals to work towards. Patience and perseverance while performing the best job you can in a current position have always been my means to allowing new opportunities to come my way. Nothing is written in stone yet so I will keep my fingers crossed as I start to study the things I need to know for this position.

I admire your ability to call lifting heavy weights “easy”. After 4 sets of squats, 4 sets of close grip presses, and 4 sets of deadlifts, I was breathing heavy and dripping sweat. I had to ratchet it up to finish off my overhead presses and standing barbell curls. You da man, Billy.

I love the possibility of a new job….what a great opportunity for you…I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you…glad your IBS has subsided….I couldn’t imagine…my sister suffers form colitis and if she’s not good with her eating she pays the price evertime…no exceptions ever….there is something about muscles feeling a workout, I am learning its almost euphoric, I guess in a sadist way..LOL but makes me feel like I know I am achieving my goal for being at the gym…the weekend is upon us…I hope you have something fun planned to do…suppose to be a beautiful weekend here I hope the sun reaches your area as well…Kat

Have you noticed any benefit to a post workout recovery protein shake? I noticed big muscle gain while doing this years ago. I used hot Epsom baths and Aspercreme for sore muscles.

Congrats on the new job opportunity! I hope things work out the way you like. 🙂
