After working with MoneyDance for Mac most of the day yesterday I finally managed to get my bank accounts set up. I have to admit that it was a huge pain in the ass as it really is a learning curve to figure it all out. So far, Mint is showing to be the superior product, but that may change as I learn to manage and manipulate MoneyDance. I still have two other account in the form of an IRA and 401K that I am trying to get set up, but am finding that there are definitely some curve balls that are being thrown my way.
I still long for the ease of working with my Windows laptop as I have been a Microsoft guy since back in the DOS days, but I will push forward and continue to learn more about this other system they call OS. What I am learning is that there is less room for error on a mac and the operating system itself is pretty much fool proof. I don’t have to worry about things like viruses, but I still have a virus protection program running. Although I purchased a mouse I hardly use it because the trackpad and key combinations make it so much easier to work. And I love the compact design and the fact that I can take it with me and get 12 hours of battery life while working in the field.
It looks like both my weight and numbers are both coming back down again. The funny thing is that I haven’t worked out in many days now other than the tough yard work I did over the weekend, and my diet hasn’t been the greatest. I am really wondering if taking this probiotic each day along with eating fermented foods is starting to work. And I am wondering if there is a direct connection between gut health and Type II Diabetes.
Blood Sugar- 89, Weight- 177.0
100% connection between gut flora and diabetes. Gut flora is everything. Also a connection with GMO’s and gut flora which ultimately affects insulin and our whole computer system we have inside. Diabetes is an attack on ourselves essentially ..GMO’s have triggered this attack and this coupled with the unhealthy carb and sugar loving diet of North Americas ..I’d say diabetes is getting off easy. Add the toxic air we breath, the polluted water we drink, the dead nutrient free soil we eat from…..cancer is a short day away for all too many.
Without going off on a rant and loading the comment section with info on GMO’s and gut flora etc (you can drown in Google with the info available) but ultimately we are responsible for ourselves…what we eat, how we feel etc.
In my opinion, we, unknowingly, are the largest living science experiment ever held.
Well said Sandy, I can’t agree with you more. 🙂
Glad your stomach feels like it is coming back into line with the rest of you.
Keep plugging away at the Mac though as it honestly does get easier…..
Yea, it’s getting easier each day.
There’s something of an illusion that UNIX based operating systems (Mac and Linux) are super secure and that viruses can’t touch them. The reality is that not as many viruses are written to take advantage of Mac and Linux because A): Most people and companies run Windows desktops (think low hanging fruit), and B): more black hats dislike Microsoft’s financial model and philosophy and thus have a greater motivation to “stick it” to MS than they do Mac & Linux.
So keep running anti-virus software.
I use a Mac at work along with virtual Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) machines, and I have a Windows 7 desktop and Mac airbook at home. Each has its own advantages and drawbacks. One of the best pieces of advice I was ever given by an IT manager was “never marry an operating system.”
I can agree with you there, but sometimes I do miss working with DOS. I starting using Avast on the mac and noticed that it did pick up on a few email viruses already. The funny thing was that the viruses were through my outlook account and were advertisements sent by microsoft. Go figure.
Sounds like your going to get that Mac working for you yet. My nephew has a Mac and he wouldn’t have anything else. We learned in school that the Mac is so reliable that there are some industrial ones that have been running for years and have never needed to be turned off because they simply didn’t have any problems. Wow. I will never be able to say that about a PC.
I know, I can’t tell you how many times I had to format the drive and reinstall everything on the PC. Ahhhhh
I know that. Most of the time when you buy one new you are better off to go ahead and format it to get rid of all of the junk that’s on there and will cause system crashes.
Wasn’t the command FDISK to wipe a PC?! 😁
Interesting the gut health aspect. I once had food poisoning. No amount of chemicals could halt the ahem.. Evacuations. I then bought a liquid probiotic. It stopped everything in its tracks. Amazing.
You’ve got it BookWriterHer. 🙂
🙂
Yes, it’s just another piece in the puzzle of good health.
Maybe no longer a puzzle. For this aspect at least. Fingers crossed.
sounds like it doesn’t it, and the numbers reflecting it….glad you feeling better….my son and daughter both swears by there MAC’s
I am starting to love this Mac.
Very good….my son sad it would take time….I almost bought one, but I went with the one I was familiar with…I am glad your enjoying it….I have heard the ole saying changed to…once you go MAC you’ll never go back…LOL
I like that saying.
