Mac Update, Nature and Winter Changes

After a week with trying to work both with Quicken for Mac and Mint I am discouraged by both. I really liked Quicken for Windows but with trying to migrate my whole like to a Mac I have to find an answer. I am trying MoneyDance which was the runner up to Quicken for Mac and holds the number #2 spot in the awards list. I will be setting up this program today and let you know what I think. I have to apologize for not paying much attention to other blogs recently. I have been so caught up in learning the new world of computing that I have had very little time to actually read your posts. Hopefully it won’t be long until I am working the Mac the same way I worked the PC to point where everything just seems natural. It would be so much easier to just stay with PC and forget about Mac, but just because something is familiar doesn’t always mean that it’s better. And besides, it is fun to learn new things and expand the mind a bit.

Today is day number #3 of taking the product called Align for IBS and so far I have no problems with IBS. It seems that my lower GI is making changes for the better.

333995013Yesterday my body was exhausted from all the yard work I did over the weekend, and to honest with you I am still feeling a bit achy today. I really enjoy the feeling as hard work is a part of the whole minimalist movement. When our minds and bodies become one with nature it creates a feeling deep inside that is so connected with the natural world that we become better human beings. If you just find a way to eat from nature and work and play in nature the rewards are significant. There is an aura of energy that surrounds all things natural that is the same aura that surrounds each of us. When these two combine there is no word to describe the intimacy.

cold.jpg.560x0_q80_crop-smartMy body weight seems to be creeping back up but my blood sugar is staying stable. As we are approaching Fall it will be difficult to maintain this weight as my body will naturally try to store more fat to get me through the cold winter. When it’s cold outside our bodies require additional energy just to maintain keeping our temperatures at 98.6 degrees. The way in which our bodies do this is to make sure that there is additional fat stored for emergency energy. The problem is that when we continually eat our bodies never get the chance to actually burn this fat and there we are in Spring running a gazillion miles on the treadmill. I will continue to practice intermittent fasting a few days per week to make sure that my body is at least accessing this stored fat for energy.

Good for you wanting to learn a new product…I am such a creature of habit, I am not sure I would have the patience or desire to learn a new program style on a computer…if I had to, I would…it does take a lot of brain energy, that for sure…!!! you weight gain is probably your body retaining water if your sore, it likes to cushion you with extra water when we push it to hard… I was onece told by a trainer your weight fluxes by 3#’s up or down due to increased water depending how much stress you have put on your body…glad to hear your IBS is better….keep your head at the keyboard my friend, if anyone can make the transition to a new setup…my money is on you…you are very tenacious as you are nice…LOL going to be 102 her today…are you getting any of this frigin heat??? Heading to Bodega Bay…..83′ there today….kat

Sounds like you have your hands full with learning that Mac. Good luck on that one. I don’t have the patience.
I think that another advantage to fasting every so often is that it allows us to recognize what it feels like to actually get hungry. I have found with myself that I tend to eat just because it is time to eat. We are such a slave to the clock. I have been learning to eat only when I am hungry and then only enough to take that hunger away. Our bodies will queue us to eat and not eat but we have forgotten how to listen to them because of all of the clutter in our heads.

    • I couldn’t agree with you more Tony. This happens when we over eat carbs and our blood sugar goes up and then comes down again. When it reaches bottom we feel as though we need to eat because we feel that low energy feeling.

  3. You haven’t missed anything of mine Bill, been laid up for a week now and only just going back through my “blogs I follow”
