Cardio Burn Day #1

Yesterday I did much better with staying active and made a few small adjustments to my diet and again both my blood glucose level has dropped along with my body weight. Today is Monday where I am back to a work week where I will be doing more walking during the day along with running up and down the stairs at work. It isn’t much, but it is enough to keep things inside my body running in a positive way.

EAT-SMART-5-FOODS-THAT-ACTUALLY-HELP-YOU-BURN-FATI have decided to change up my workout plan once again and will be doing cardio each day along with 1 set of bowflex exercises. I want to start to focus more on burning fat each day. I am aiming at just a vigorous 2 mile walk each day after working my muscles. This workout might take a little more time each morning and there will be less time to write in my blog so I may just have to simply monitor this workout on it without doing any creative writing for a while.

The reason that I am moving more in the area of cardio is the fact that I should be doing some type of activity each day like basketball, tennis or some other form of recreation. Being that it is not readily available for folks my age here in the area of the country I live in and the fact that I have an 11 hour work schedule each day I feel that I can make up for a little of it by picking up my cardio through the treadmill or walking. So let’s call today cardio burn day #1 and see where it takes me. I am not looking for weight loss and could care less about it but I am looking to reduce the body fat that is causing my pants to fit a little tighter than they used to.

I think you’re spot on regarding body fat loss vs weight loss. I do not remember if I mentioned the Omron Body Fat hand held electrical impedance tool that measures body fat. Looser fitting clothing means weight loss is occurring, however, it doesn’t necessarily equate with body fat. For about $50 this device will measure body fat and confirm the weight loss is coming from the right sources. I have seen many people lose weight only to be left with elevated body fat (and thin bodies.) For anyone concerned about diabetes, body fat composition is an important statistic because it affects insulin sensitivity in the body. Just wanted to mention this FYI. Wishing you continued success.

    • Thank You. Yes, you did mention it before and I am still using my old calipers. I should make the investment. I am going to work this new plan for 21 days and see if it works both for blood glucose and reducing body fat.

  2. Keep posting. It’s good to see progress and how different exercise affects different people.

    • I will. I sometimes love to let my fingers just pound away on the keyboard early in the morning and write about other subjects, but for I while I will be sticking with the progress of this new workout.

you know…. you could bring the basketball to work… (lol) I read with interest your strategy for burning fat. While my approach is way less scientific, I totally agree with the keep the metabolism cranked (to an elevated, yet appropriate level.)
    Interesting Post
