Finally after 8 days I am back to lifting heavy weight and I have to tell you that I am feeling tingles throughout my body that are euphoric in nature as my body is welcoming the challenge. With each set that I complete I can actually feel hormones of pleasure being released into my blood stream bringing about that feeling of release. It is almost the same feeling that of the few minutes after the release of an orgasm after intense heart pumping, crazy monkey sex. It is no wonder I go to work smiling after a weight lifting day.
Yesterday didn’t go as well as planned as despite the fact that I ate a good breakfast I found myself in the mid morning eating 2 breakfast burritos. Being that I didn’t have left overs to bring for lunch I ordered out Chinese food which was healthy but also laden with sugar. Dinner was a small amount of spaghetti and a whole lot of salad. It wasn’t a perfect eating day, but for the most part it wasn’t that bad either. My blood glucose reading this morning was slightly lower than yesterday, but my body weight went up slightly.
I know that once again after a week of vacation it will probably take around two weeks for my body to get back to what I call normal. This means that I should be seeing steady early morning glucose numbers under 100 and my body weight slowly decreasing at the rate of about 2 lbs. per week. But once again I no longer worry too much about my overall body weight as it is the waist size that I keep my eye on.
I am using EAS Myoplex protein shakes on my weight lifting days as a supplement to feed my muscles as it is too difficult to use natural foods early in the morning. Each shake contains 42 grams of protein and I will drink one during my workout and on about 3 hours after the workout. I know that this goes against my One with Nature attitude, but I find that it curbs my appetite during the day. It is low carb and low sugar so it fits in well with my Type II Diabetes routine and also is a daily source of vitamins I may miss during my regular diet.
Enough writing, let me get back to my workout. Ahhhhh Ohhhhh Mmmmm. LOL
