Science for Profits is Not Food

food--real food, not synthetic chemicalsThere are so many products on the market that promise to supply our bodies with all of the nutrients that our bodies need to do things like lose weight, and reverse diseases that it’s enough to make your head spin. You see them on your TV screen, listen about them on the radio, find them in your email box and see them on the sidebars of websites. Throughout my life I have even tried a few and discovered each time that the promises that were made never pan out to being the complete truth.

You will never see an advertisement on my blog that endorses anything other than a product that I have proven to be a benefit to the cause of a healthier human being. If I did have a side banner of this nature it would be an endorsement to shop at your local farmers market, or to find a farm itself that grows fresh, organic produce. Or cage free chicken, or eggs. Milk that is raw and from the source of cows living a happy cow life. I would endorse the local butchers across the country that produce meats that from animals that are not part of the factory farming process. I would endorse the gardens on your own property where you grow your favorite vegetables and herbs that are filled with the love of you and your families tending to your own crops. These are, and have always been the true sources of healthy nutrition for many thousands of years. Even before then hunter gatherers ate directly from the earth and the wild animals in there regions of the planet.

Science has come a long way and has created some pretty amazing things in just our lifetimes alone, but keep in mind that any product is the result of the pursuit of profits and although there are a few that actually have some nutritional benefits they certainly cannot ever outweigh the benefits of eating from the source. This also includes GMO’s (Genetically Manufactured Organisms) which are seeds that have been altered to grow plants a specific way that will produce a products that is resistant to many diseases and can grow beautiful fruits and vegetables. The problems is that they are producing the same produce that nature and time itself spent millions of years developing. There is a balance in nature and when you disrupt that balance it effects many other area’s of nature itself. Let science produce our devices we use to communicate and systems that keep us warm in the winter, but let’s show them that we prefer our food sources direct from nature, unaltered and filled with all of the nutrients that our bodies are meant to take in. Your body and mind will work in balance with these food sources that are pure and natural in their creation and you will feel and know the difference throughout your life.

Real food is digested in it’s natural form as you need the whole apple, not just the juice or the vitamin A what was extracted from it. You want more fiber in your diet then eat those fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber and your trips to the bathroom will be a lot more pleasant. Do you really want to see all of the benefits that are promised in the advertising campaigns of these crazy products, then simply EAT REAL FOOD.

So based on my numbers I see this morning I know that it is high time that I get back into action and begin the workout process once again. It has been 3 long days of healing and I am feeling energetic and ready to start getting my body into motion while being mindful to not overdo it. The high morning glucose is not the result of not working out alone, it is also the result of eating some high carb foods yesterday. Namely, corn bread with a bowl of soup and a grilled cheese sandwich and some pretzels. Yea, I was a dumb ass yesterday. 😦

  1. This topic has been a bee in my bonnet for some time now. I wish my family would take it more seriously.

  2. Lol! Yesterday was a bad day for me too in the carb department. Am celebrating my getting an amazing new job and carbed out, something I haven’t done in 2 years. Not with a bunch of sugar mind you, but a small potato, had a taco salad that I love to get from a local restaurant, but this time, instead of giving the shell to hubby, I ate about 1/2 of it. Then topped it off last night with a few “sugar free” chocolates and a few handfuls of Popcorn. So generally terrible. But have the day off and I’m going to grill myself up some lovely meats and do a nice weeks of meats and lots of leafy greens. Yesterday gave me good motivation to get back on my intermittent fasting schedule. So to make yesterday a “positive”, I’m considering it a “reset” day!

  3. A friend of mine has been on at me for years to eat real food and for the past two weeks I honestly have been doing just that nearly every meal and I have to say that I feel so much better for doing it. Remarkable.

My wife and I agree with you about our food and would love to see GMO labeling. Some great documentaries that discuss the issue of food are: Food Inc., Farmegeddon, and Bad Seed the Truth about Food.

    • I watched them all. It is so sad that we allow the industrial complex to dictate the foods we put in our bodies.

      • webbermd says:

Agreed, it’s up to us to grow our own food, buy locally from farmers who don’t use pesticides or GMOs, and shop wisely. My wife and I figure if we eat healthier and pay more now; we won’t have to face the expense of hospital bills later.

      • Absolutely, each time we put these foreign chemicals into our bodies that are supposed to be there we force ourselves into a defensive condition as our bodies fight hard to rid this crap. The funny thing is that our populations cries about things like second hand smoke, yet never question what they are putting into their bodies on a daily basis. It is just crazy, and in the end it will be the medical industry that profits and us who pay the price both in lost health and money.

This is an excellent article on how science has gone awry! I have very little trust for the scientific and medical communities. But if they wake up and stop endorsing evil companies like Monsanto, they will start earning my trust again.

  6. Thanks for all the info. Your blog is a great inspiration. Keep on going.

  7. Love this post about clean eating! I am trying to make a concerted effort to feed my family with clean foods I fuel our bodies. It’s hard to get away from inflammatory ingredients like wheat, gluten, and sugar since they are in everything. Thanks for bringing attention to this important issue :-).
