I Love the Farmers Market

Yes, now I know that it is truly Spring when I am walking around a farmers market. Saturday we visited the Oregon City Farmers Market and Sunday we visited one of Portland’s many Farmers Markets. There is just something special about being around like minded people searching for healthy vegetables and garden plants. I picked up 2 heirloom tomato plants that I intend on planting in the next week or so.

I also love the Farmer’s Markets! We live walking distance to one. They’re everywhere around here. We also belong to a CSA (community supported agriculture) and just got back from the farm… fresh, organic spinach, onions, shallots, walnuts, salad greens, garlic, parsley, chard, eggs, and goat cheese this week.

Ooh, we were at a farmer’s market this weekend too (though being in Scotland, we didn’t get the lovely weather you did…). They are fabulous and we came back with wild boar sausages, pork and spring onion burgers, eggs, cauliflower and trout fillets. Yum!

We have some great Farmer’s Markets in our area. My wife and I love to go to our local one on Saturday mornings where we load up on fresh fruit and veggies and occasionally on some artisan cheeses and bread.

  5. The Farmer’s Market is a feel-good experience.
