Blood Sugar – 112

I am writing once again from the I-Phone in the Tampa International Airport getting ready to board the first leg of my trip back to Oregon. It has been a busy schedule and am looking forward to the comforts of home. I am also looking forward to getting back on track with the diet and exercise routine. I am curious to see what my weight is after 10 days of steady food and no workouts.

Based on the the photo you can see that there are people boarding the plane in wheel chairs. This happens a lot with flights to Oregon as many of the elderly are in pretty bad shape. Maybe this is why the average age in Oregon is only 35. I believe that it all has to do with the lack of sunshine and of course Vitamin D.

About SimpleLivingOver50

At 53 years old I am starting to realize how life changes both physically and emotionally. I strive for a life of simplicity. I am winning the battle with type II diabetes, created a plan to have all debt paid off in 4 years including the house, taking advantage of every opportunity to live life to it's fullest through adventures in nature, hiking, biking, loving and learning.

  1. Interesting factoid about Oregon you mentioned. I could see that about the lack of sunshine and average age being 35. Oregon is one of the most beautiful states I have ever seen, but the lack of sunshine was definitely noted. I think I would suffer SAD if I lived there. Eating healthy while out of town is a challenge! Eating healthy at home is also a challenge, but much easier to do with shopping and cooking at home being an option. I have lost 60lbs. in the last year and feel better than ever. I will be 42 on Saturday and being healthy has become something I think about more often. I work now for a company because they sell the products that have helped me back to a more healthy me. If you are ever interested let me know. NO PRESSURE! Just sharing the love. Also, I have a debt free plan too and that is awesome that you do. I just want to be healthy, as stress free as possible, and enjoy the simplicity of what I am learning to be true…Less IS more. 🙂 Hang in there!

Vitamin D seems to be a bigger problem that ever in our general population. I read an article (sorry, cannot quote) that said something like 90% of people under 60 who die from an illness are Vitamin D deficient, regardless of the illness.
