Paleo Preparations for a Long Vacation

I’m here in Tampa then Miami doing the same thing. The hard part is figuring out meals with folks that never even heard of Paleo.

About SimpleLivingOver50

At 53 years old I am starting to realize how life changes both physically and emotionally. I strive for a life of simplicity. I am winning the battle with type II diabetes, created a plan to have all debt paid off in 4 years including the house, taking advantage of every opportunity to live life to it's fullest through adventures in nature, hiking, biking, loving and learning.

You think that’s tough, try keeping kosher and traveling. No, I’m not Jewish but my wife is. She’s not all that observant and we keep only “kosher-style” in our diet, but she’s acquainted with the local Chabad Rabbi and his wife and as Orthodox Jews, they do keep kosher. They also periodically travel and it’s not only what they eat in what combination but where it was prepared that matters, so eating in a non-Jewish setting is rather involved.

When I visited my parents for a week last December, I really had to loosen up on my diet. Of course, I’m not diabetic, so it wasn’t that critical for me, but they did try somewhat to accommodate my dietary requirements (although I don’t really keep kosher, I still don’t eat pork, shellfish, etc…).

I would have hoped that more people would be sensitive to your dietary needs since you are diabetic.
