So far it has been a very peaceful experience here in Tampa as I sit at the side of the Hillsborough River and watch the moon’s reflection bounce about on the ripples of the water. Being near water has always brought about a certain peace I feel deep in my heart, and this river is no different. As my my drifts I think about what this river looked like 100 years ago and vision the same scene that I am looking at without all of the modern, high tech boats motoring down it. The people who who are on the river are similar to the same people today as they seek a day of quiet fishing or the pleasure of soaking up the sun’s rays in a serene, but changing nature tour. There are less houses and more wild grasses and vegetation alone the river bank.
Along the bank a man sits and dreams of what this river will be like 100 years from now along with his very own soul. Maybe he will be sitting along this same river bank thinking about what this river was like 100 years ago.
Today is day #3 in Tampa Florida as I again rise in the little house on the pier. Besides the fact that I ate well yesterday I noticed this morning that my blood sugar has risen to over 100. This is a strong indication that I need to find some form of physical activity today and I know that I originally planned to do calisthenics in the morning. So I plan on finding a place to walk for a few miles and work in some pushups and situps.
