One of the best things about finding the Paleo way of eating is that it turns out to be pretty simple as there are only a few items that I purchase each week. As I was looking in the fridge and pantry this morning for idea’s to reduce more clutter it dawned on me that where at one time I would have had both of these areas filled with all kinds of stuff, they are actually pretty bare now. And come to think of it, food shopping has become so much more simpler. There are two parts to a Paleo meal. One is meat and the other is vegetables. It really is that simple, yet not so simple. With those two items comes other things like spices, olive oil, grass fed butter and farm fresh eggs.
Simple Shopping for vegetables is done at just a few locations. Seasonally at the Farmers Market, or off season at the local grocery store always keeping in mind to purchase Non-GMO produce. And of course harvesting my own vegetables from the raised bed gardens.
Simple Shopping for meats are at our local butcher or a supermarket that has a good quality meat section. I only buy grass fed, grass finished beef, Buffalo, Lamb or Chicken.
Simple Shopping for all of our cleaning, personal hygiene and beauty items we purchase on a monthly basis online through a company called Melaleuca. This company uses no harmful chemicals in there products that are safe for humans and the environment. So we just place one order per month and we are done.
Of course there are other items we purchase as well like toilet paper and trash bags, but I try to find the cheapest prices and buy in bulk. I actually have shelves in the garage for these bulk items.
It’s funny how your mind thinks by simply looking in the pantry. LOL
