It is time to sit down and analyze a few things. My body weight has gone up over 3 lbs in just 48 hours and my morning glucose is up to 98.
I am currently on Day #25 of taking creatine and in 5 days my muscles should be fully loaded. But before I point the blame on the creatine lets take a look at other things that have been going on. I haven’t gone to the bathroom on a regular basis which usually means that I haven’t been drinking enough water. And now that I think about it I have only been drinking water in the early morning during the workout. I know it can’t be my diet because it hasn’t changed in any way. In the last two days I have worked both my back and legs which are large muscle groups. These muscles with the help of creatine retain water to allow for faster growth. Without the proper supply of H2O my body realizes that it must hold on to what ever water it currently has. And I have noticed that I haven’t been urinating as frequently.
But could this account for a higher morning glucose reading? I believe it could as just as when we get a cold and the body has to make changes to address and attack the virus, the body also has to address the lack of hydration in the body. As with any problem in which the immune system has to kick into gear to correct the balance in our bodies, our blood sugar levels rise as the process of clearing the blood of sugar is put on hold temporarily.
So for right now I am going to point the blame at the lack of water in my diet. I will certainly have to be more mindful of my water intake, especially when I am in Florida next week.
I am giving all of the muscle groups a break today and will simply walk a mile.
