Another day, another set of good numbers. This routine is working extremely well for me and I feel as though my T2D is totally under control. I feel that what I am doing is right in line with the seasons of my life.
I have heard it said in the fitness world so many times throughout my life that during the winter months we should bulk up and in the summer we slim down. When I think about it in the Paleo world it does make total sense. 10,000 years ago our ancestors spent much time in the winter hunting, collecting wood for fires to stay warm, spend a lot of time in the cave to stay warm and eating lots of fat, and of course getting a lot of sleep. During the summer months they spent more time walking and gathering fresh foods that grew from the ground.
So maybe the routine that I am doing right now sort of mimics the same routine that humans have done for many years. Maybe, just maybe it is actually a part of our genetic makeup which makes us human. I really don’t know for sure, but I do know that it works for me and my health. Of course our ancestors didn’t have the option to bulk up at the donut shop or local fast food restaurant. What they bulked up with is the same thing we should be bulking up with in the winter and that is meat and collected autumn vegetables.
So the question is, when is the breaking point where I am doing less resistance exercise and more cardio? Will I know this automatically when the time comes? I will have to listen very closely to my body.
