02-15-15 – Sunday – Eating out on Special Occasions

It was a wonderful Valentines Day for Sharon and I. With just a single red rose, a primrose I was able to bring the colors of love into our home as we exchanged cards. We discussed this later and both agreed that this would be the last time we exchanged cards as the cost just didn’t blend in well with our minimalist ways. We spent the afternoon in Portland babysitting our newest granddaughter Lillian. It was a wonderful experience and it gave the kids the opportunity to get away for a few hours to spend time alone.

Later, we drove to one of our favorite restaurants in Oregon City for the taste of Tapas. Not thinking we would need a reservation we were not able to get in. We ended up having dinner at the fire blasted pizzeria across the street and actually had a wonderful dinner. Steamer clams, Spinach salad, pizza and wine. Yea, I know what you are thinking… “But Billy, you don’t eat pizza”. And you are right, and I am paying for it this morning. Life isn’t always perfect when going out to eat, and for the most part we eat at home, but sometimes on special days going out to eat is just wonderful. So you pick up the pieces and move on.
