02-12-15 – Thursday – No Cheating

Nocheating
Oh my, look at my blood sugar this morning. I cheated yesterday and ate some Chinese Food after lunch. Lot’s of rice and sweet sauces and here are the results. It seems that that healthier I get, the easier it is seeing the mistakes that I make. A year ago I wouldn’t have even considered an increase of 30 points in my morning glucose test to be significant, but now it is major. And usually when I make mistakes like this it will take me 2-3 days to get my blood glucose down to normal range again.

Again, it is all about practicing mindfulness so at moments when I am enticed by delightful food and can turn it around by simply saying NO. The long term benefits always outweigh the short term pleasure. It took about 10 minutes to eat the Chinese food, and now I am dealing with the battle to get my sugar back down for at least the next 48 hours.

  1. Saying NO is the key, isn’t it! Sometimes it’s easy sometimes not so much, but on we go!

  2. No kidding (on the post title!) – I need to stamp this on my forehead.
