02-07-15 – Saturday – My Blog is Changing Directions and I Need Advice

It is only my second day taking creatine and my power seems to have increased significantly. According to the professionals it takes a full 30 days for the body to be fully loaded when taking just 5 grams per day. But I am seeing changes already. My blood sugar is above 100 this morning, but it was a little higher yesterday. I don’t want to jump to any conclusions just yet. I know that I ate a burrito bowl with lunch yesterday that contained rice and beans. It was delicious, but not something that is beneficial to type II diabetes. I will get back on track and continue to monitor.

I believe that it may be time to evaluate the theme of this blog. It has moved in a direction of health vs. simple living. Although maintaining good health is an important part of the whole simple living process, it appears that the blog is more health driven. I am thinking that maybe I could do something with the banner to include more about health and type II diabetes. I would appreciate any thoughts. I have considered simple starting a new blog, but I would have to go through the cost of registration and I really don’t need two blogs. I also thought about creating multiple area’s on this blog, but I wouldn’t have the new theme in dot com title. Hmm… I will think on this a little more.

  1. Simple Living leads to Healthful Living. Simply slowly transition to the Simple Living. When you eat simply, you are eating vegetables and fruits–plant-based. Talking about simple living (simple eating), you will be addressing the topics you want to blog about. I think you are over thinking this…you know what you are doing. So just do it. But slowly as in any transition and transformation.

    • Yea, you are probably right. I love eating lots of vegetables along with a little grass fed beef, grass fed butter, cage free eggs and of course bacon. LOL. I need to get back on board with the vegetables, but this time of year the fresh, organic ones are hard to find. Thanks for the input.

    One idea would be to choose a theme that lets you show a tag line to your title. It’s like subtitle and can add focus or explanation to a title. I have around five blogs on WordPress.com, some free and some premium, and I like using the subtitle where it helps. I see your title is in a header image, so maybe that image needs editing. You could also choose one of the newer themes that have front page and/or grid formats, like Edin or Sela, where you can highlight sections of the site. Other than that, I think your organizing by category works until you find the right way to showcase your topics.

    I don’t talk publicly about my T2D and appreciate your posts.

  3. I’m of the view that simple living and healthy living (exercise, work-outs, diet) are two separate topics, as least from a reader’s perspective. I would recommend two separate blogs.
